With this 4 day tour only 6 hours driving from Cusco, you will be in the rainforest of Acjanaco known as the entrance to the Manu National Park. From there, we will be heading further into the rainforest through small local villages until we reach the port of Atalaya. Here a motorized boat will be waiting for you. An exciting boat ride along the river Madre de Dios awaits us before we settle for the night in the lodge. We are now in the rainforest of Manu where the natural sound and the fresh air will soothe you. Waking up at sunrise by singing thousands of birds is something you will never forget. You can explore Lake Machuwasi on a thatched raft like the locals did for thousands of years. Take a walk around the lake, look for the CEIBA PENTANDRA a giant indigenous tree, and finally observe the parrots at the salt lick.

Day 1 :

DAY 1: CUSCO - CLOUD FOREST – PAUCARTAMBO – MANU GREEN LODGE

Pick up service from your hotel between 5:30am and 6:00am, ascending to the high mountain area of Paucartambo. On the way we will visit the funeral towers of Ninamarca and we’ll go up to Ajanaco at 4.000asl. Then we’ll descent through the mysterious cloud forest full of beautiful orchids, heliconias and primitive ferns. With some luck we´ll be able to see the Spectacled Bear and the cock of the rock’s mating ritual. We’ll observe the Amazonian Umbrella bird, Trogons, Quetzals or Oropendolas amongst others. Finally we’ll arrive to our Manu Green Lodge with shared showers and toilets.

Day 2 :

DAY 2: PILCOPATA LODGE- ATALAYA – MACHUWASI LAKE – PAITITI LODGE

After the breakfast we’ll take the bus for 40 minutes and on the way we are going to do a walk, where we will see agricultural plantations, birds and monkeys. Then we will arrive to Atalaya Port, where we will take a motor boat for 30 minutes and we will navigate until our lodge. On the way we will visit a hot springs area and we will explore the jungle. After having lunch, we’ll explore the jungle and will sail on the Machuhuasi Lake in a balsa raft, where you will see species like hoatzins, monkeys, dwarf alligators, capybaras, tapir, etc. After dinner we’ll have an interesting night walk. Accommodation in our Paititi Lodge with private bathrooms and showers.

Day 3 :

DIA 3: PARROT´S CLAY LICK – WALKS IN THE JUNLE

Very early in the morning we’ll sail towards the parrot clay lick (Wall of clay with minerals), where we’ll be able to observe many species of parrots. After that we´ll have a delicious breakfast. OPTIONAL: RETURN BACK TO CUSCO FOR PASSANGERS WITH 3 DAYS PROGRAMME.
The rest of the day we’ll explore walking inside the forest, where we will be able to see a variety of the wild life. At night we’ll go through trails in order to spot the night wild life. We will spent the night in the Paititi Lodge with private bathrooms and showers. OPCIONAL: canopy zipline or canopy walkway for USA $ 20 additional each activity.

Day 4 :

DAY 4: PAITITI LODGE – ATALAYA – CUSCO

After a delicious breakfast we’ll sail towards Atalaya, where we’ll take the bus to return to Cusco, passing once more through the cloud forest. And finally, after leaving behind the lush forest and Andes Mountain landscapes we’ll be arriving to Cusco around 7:00pm.
